We will develop your skills to enable you to progress to further study and ultimately to employment.
What you will study
This introductory qualification will maximise opportunities for learners to make progress by focusing on the development of IT sector related skills and essential transferable skills. The qualifications will develop your ability to organise yourself and encourage your development towards employment or further study within the college.

Maths and English are key elements of any full-time programme of study in College. If you do not already have a GCSE at grade A*-C (or new grade 9-4) in these subjects, you will need to attend sessions allocated on your timetable. These are varied and designed to cater for all ability levels. You will receive advice and guidance regarding the correct level for you.
Skills in Maths and English will support your full-time course, assisting you with assignment writing, research, job applications, presentations, managing your own finances and interpretation of data, to mention just a few. They will also help you in the future. Most employers are looking for ability in these areas and the majority of university courses require you to have Maths and English GCSEs at A*- C (or new grade 9-4). This is why the development of Maths and English is so important, whatever your field of study.

Skills in Digital Applications provide a wide range of career options, as well as a route into Further and Higher education. You could develop a career on the creative side of new media or you might follow a path that leads you into even more technical areas. You might be more interested in managing the whole process or you might use your knowledge of new media to take you into sales and marketing, or you might prefer to write about what you know. Digital applications play an important role in nearly all careers. Whatever path you take, this course could be your first step.
