This qualification is for learners who work or want to work in the horticulture industry and allows learners to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the horticulture sector.
Horticulture is for those working to establish, manage, retail or cultivate plants for science, plant production or crop production or to use plants in landscapes to support the built environment, for aesthetics, transport and utility infrastructure, sport or wildlife conservation.
What you will study

• Sports Turf Greenkeeper
• Sports Turf Groundsman
• Parks, Gardens and Green spaces
• Parks Gardens and Green spaces
Typical module across the above – Monitoring and maintaining health and safety.
How you will be assessed
You will meet regularly with your assessor and be observed within your workplace demonstrating your skills. You will produce evidence to prove your skills, these can be photographs, videos, work products.
Your assessor will use questions and you will have discussions to showcase and confirm the depth of your knowledge and understanding.
How you will learn
You will learn through attending taught sessions and workshops provided by College. You will have access to online resources and e-libraries. One to One sessions are available to support development. Shadowing sessions will be arranged to help you master new skills.
There are no entry requirements- Learners will ideally be 16+.
